This information session will explore the interaction between the mind and body, and how it can impact both our mental and physical health. It will explore how chronic disease, if not adequately controlled, can lead to pain, emotional distress, and physical hardship. Lastly, this talk will integrate how mindfulness exercises, like meditation, can assist individuals in achieving mind-body balance, enabling individuals to develop a positive attitude for maintaining their overall health. Under the leadership of Stephen Sands, Downtown Voices has been working closely with renowned pedagogue Dr. Donald Dumpson and the Philadelphia Heritage Chorale for the past few months. Comfort at One continues presenting our Thursday Pipes at One series from the inauguration of the Noack organ at St. Paul’s Chapel in 2018. Today’s organ recital is from February 20, 2018 and is performed by Frederick Jodry.

The 2017 Time’s Arrow Festival culminated in the world premiere of Paola Prestini’s A Mass: The Imaginary World of Wild Order interspersed with music of the Medieval and early Renaissance including works by Hildegard von Bingen, Machaut, and Dufay.
