FAQs
How do I know if my organization qualifies for funding?
Please review the program descriptions of the Housing & Homelessness, Racial Justice, Mission Real Estate Development, and Leadership Development initiatives to evaluate your organization’s eligibility and grant request alignment with the priorities.
How does my organization apply for a grant?
To begin your inquiry, complete the eligibility quiz on our grantee portal. We review inquiries and ideas on a rolling basis. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we cannot answer each inquiry. But, if we are interested in learning more about your idea, we will get in touch with you.
How do I log in to the grantee portal?
If your organization is eligible to receive a grant, you’ll receive an email with instructions to register in Fluxx, our online grantee portal. Once you complete the registration process and your information has been reviewed and approved by staff, you will receive an additional email inviting you to continue the application process.
If you have applied for a Trinity grant in the past and previously received instructions to register with Fluxx, please use the same username and password to log in to the system.
If you don’t remember your password, please follow the change-your-password instructions. If you don’t remember your username, please email us at philanthropies@trinitychurchnyc.org.
For additional instructions specific to Fluxx’s multi-factor authentication (MFA) process, please see our MFA instruction sheet.
How long does the process take?
From idea submission to payment, the process takes approximately six months.
What happens after I submit my Letter of Inquiry for a Mission Real Estate Development project?
You will receive an email to acknowledge receipt of your Letter of Inquiry (LOI). The Philanthropies team will review your LOI and determine if it aligns with program guidelines. If there appears to be a potential match, you will be invited to submit a full application. Due to limits on the amount of available grant funding in any one year, we must regretfully decline some applications that are for worthy projects and that also fit within our guidelines.
Does a potential grantee have to be affiliated with the Anglican/Episcopal Church?
U.S. applicants are not required to have an existing affiliation with the Episcopal Church, but they must be registered as a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization or have a fiscal sponsor. If you are not a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organization and need to identify a fiscal sponsor, we recommend referring to the NYLPI Fiscal Sponsorship Guide. Internationally, Trinity Church provides grants to dioceses, provinces, and seminaries within the Anglican Communion.
Do you fund individuals?
We do not fund individuals or consider applications for scholarships from individuals.
What is the maximum funding amount?
Our grants vary in size but typically range between $100,000 and $250,000. The amount requested should correspond to a realistic assessment of the cost of the program or organizational need. For more information on recent grantees and grant amounts, visit our Grantees page.
What is the typical length of a grant?
Grant terms vary in length from as short as six months to projects that take place over three years.
I’m not quite sure my project is ready for review. Can I get some help?
Please contact Philanthropies@trinitychurchnyc.org and the appropriate program officer will be glad to discuss your project.
