Auditions

Come sing with us at Trinity!
If you’re interested in sharpening your choral skills, consider auditioning for one of our celebrated ensembles.
St. Paul’s Chapel Choir
The St. Paul’s Chapel Choir brings together people who love to sing and who want to be part of a warm and welcoming community. Auditions are simple and low-pressure; they include singing a song or hymn of your choice, participating in a pitch-matching exercise, and sight-reading a few simple lines of music in the key of C.
Trinity Downtown Voices
Trinity Downtown Voices, our semiprofessional choir, accepts audition requests from high-level volunteer singers.
All applicants are required to submit a video sample of their singing. After a screening process, successful applicants will be invited to audition in person. These auditions will include sight-reading from a four-part hymn, singing a prepared choral piece, and performing an aria or art song of the singer’s choosing.
Trinity Youth Chorus
Currently in its 21st season, the Trinity Youth Chorus offers group training in vocal technique, music theory, sight-reading, and performance to young singers in grades K-12. Choristers help lead music at Sunday services and collaborate with Trinity Choir, NOVUS, and the Trinity Baroque Orchestra at concerts throughout the year. The Trinity Youth Chorus welcomes all young people— regardless of their musical experience or background.
Peppercorn and Junior Choristers (Grades K-5)
Prospective Peppercorn (grades K-2) and Junior (grades 3-5) choristers must demonstrate an interest in singing and commitment to attend weekly rehearsals.
Senior and Schola Choristers (Grades 6-12)
Admission to our Senior (grades 6-8) and Schola (advanced grades 9-12) is by audition. Prospective choristers will be evaluated on their singing and pitch matching ability, understanding of music theory, and sight-singing skills. Senior and Schola choristers commit to attend weekly rehearsals and music theory classes as well as services, concerts, and special events. Auditions are offered on a rolling basis.
