Trinity Choral Scholars Program
A unique apprenticeship for young professionals.
The Trinity Choral Scholars Program embeds early career singers with Trinity Choir and St. Paul’s Chapel Choir. The initiative offers young musicians, particularly those recently graduated and taking the next steps in their careers, a chance to develop their skills in a supportive setting. The goal is to find and train young musicians in the art of ensemble singing at the highest level, while also identifying new artists to add to the ranks of Trinity’s professional ensembles.
Trinity Choral Scholars perform with Trinity’s choirs during worship services and special events. They also attend career workshops. The program is a paid apprenticeship that lasts through the academic year, with an opportunity for renewal at the end of the spring season. The Scholars
The ideal scholar is 23–29 years old, and is contemplating, planning, or actively beginning a professional career as a singer. Candidates should have a background in choral or instrumental music, with a desire to further study the canon of choral music and develop their ensemble skills. While a degree in music is not necessary, applicants may be enrolled in undergraduate studies, taking a gap year, pursuing graduate study, or further along on their career path.
Scholar selection takes place in the spring by audition. The finalists will be announced in the summer, to begin their season in September. Scholars will be paid on a per-performance basis.
Auditions for the 2024–2025 season are now closed. Auditions for the 2025-2026 season will take place between March – May next year.
