Anna Lapwood at Trinity
The trailblazing virtuoso shines a spotlight on Trinity’s new organ
To kick off the season-long PIPES celebration, Trinity put its landmark 8,000-pipe instrument in the hands of the magnetic Anna Lapwood, who, at 30, has become a global force and social media star. Mixing her own arrangements of 19th- and 20th-century compositions by Benjamin Britten and Eugène Gigout with contemporary favorites from Alan Menken, John Williams, and Hans Zimmer (Star Wars! A Pirates of the Caribbean sing-along!), Lapwood's sold-out performance radiated sheer joy. Catch the magic — including an extraordinary work by a young breakout composer — here if you missed it!
