Lent at Trinity Church 2026

Lent is a journey we take together. It’s a church season of quiet reflection as we walk toward the miracle of Jesus’s resurrection — the ultimate expression of God’s death-defying love we celebrate at Easter.
- In 2026, Lent begins on February 18 and ends on April 4.
- Lent spans forty days: from Ash Wednesday through Holy Saturday, excluding Sundays.
- The name Lent comes from an Old English word meaning “spring.”
- Traditionally, Lenten observance includes fasting: pausing or stopping certain habits to pay closer attention to what’s essential, what’s true, and what’s holy.
Lenten Worship
Worship services are sacred gatherings along the path. During Lent, our liturgy — the shape and form of our services — is characterized by solemnity and simplicity.

Jazz Vespers
March 11
The name Vespers comes from the Latin word for “evening.” This prayer service pairs traditional liturgy with the musical language of jazz — a unique combination that helps us experience God’s Spirit in new ways.
Taizé Evening Prayer
March 18
Taizé is a faith community in Burgundy, France. Their daily worship is characterized by a musical practice where a simple phrase, usually from Scripture, is continually repeated or sung in the round — a way for everyone to participate.
