Visiting Bishops at Trinity

The Most Rev. Marinez Bassotto and the Rev. Phillip A. Jackson in Trinity Church in New York City

Throughout the year, Trinity hosts leading voices from across the Anglican Communion to connect with our community. It’s part of our commitment to learning from and working with our global family of more than 46 national churches.

The Most Rev. Marinez Bassotto

Bishop Bassotto

May 4–7

The Most Rev. Marinez Bassotto visits Trinity Church to meet with our congregation and staff. On Sunday, May 4, Bishop Bassotto joins the 11:15am service as guest preacher.

The Most Rev. Marinez Bassotto is the presiding bishop of the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil; bishop of the Diocese of Amazônia; and regional primate for the Americas, the Anglican churches in Central America, South America, and Canada. Bishop Bassotto’s ministry is marked by fostering conversation, understanding, and cooperation among Christian denominations, as well as interreligious dialogue, and a deep passion for liturgy. Throughout her ministerial life, she has walked together with the ordained and lay women of the church, supporting their leadership and projects at the grassroots level on resilience, fighting gender-based violence, and strengthening women’s organizations. With a legacy of firsts behind her, Bishop Bassotto became the first woman primate bishop of the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil upon her election in 2022.
