After his Requiem was premiered in 1868, Brahms later added a movement for solo soprano “I will comfort you as one whom his own mother comforteth.” This epic work that is now known as piece of hope and solace was performed on the finale of the Time’s Arrow Festival: Webern.

"Early in the pandemic I woke up and emotionally recorded ‘Louange à l’Éternité de Jésus’ from Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. When I was asked to make a video for this series, I knew I wanted to compose something new and include a nod to that piece," says cellist Andrew Yee.
