Trinity Movement Choir: Waging Peace

Add to Calendar 2023-12-08 4:00 PM 2023-12-08 7:00 PM America/New_York Trinity Movement Choir: Waging Peace

Experience a new multimedia performance by Trinity Movement Choir, inspired by the installation artwork Conversations with Angels by Ann McCoy.

McCoy's original work featured radiant projections on the site of Majdanek, a former Nazi concentration camp in Poland where 235,000 women, Jews and Catholics, were put to death during World War II. Using simple shadow projectors, McCoy cast radiant images throughout one of the camp barracks on sheets hung at intervals, with benches facing both walls and mirrors to allow visitors to reflect the images into their own hearts.

In the Movement Choir performance, 12 of McCoy's images inspire meditative dance pieces, set to music from Canadian composer Debbie Danbrook.

The pre-recorded 35-minute dance performance will run on a continuous loop during the 4–7pm installation period on December 8 and 9. Visitors are invited to enter St. Paul’s Chapel any time during these open hours, watch the piece, and reflect on the potential we all hold to make movements toward a more peaceful world.
