Women Waiting for Release

The Rev. Terry Pierce is an Episcopal priest in Taylor, Texas who helped organize the big July 8 prayer service in support of undocumented women locked up at the T. Don Hutto Residential Center. The gathering, which included Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and parishioners and staff from Trinity Church Wall Street, received lots of attention, but the work of supporting the women behind the walls, many seeking asylum and separated from their children, is a daily task for Terry Pierce and many of her Texas neighbors.
