Voices in Solidarity

More than a thousand people assembled Sunday July 8 in an open field in Taylor, Texas in the broiling noon day sun to show, and even shout, support across fences to the undocumented women who are locked up at the T. Don Hutto Residential Center, often separated from their children. Many attending the prayer service for justice, witness, and presence, which included Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, had come from the General Convention of the Episcopal Church going on in Austin, about 33 miles away.
