Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Patrick Williams: “The Courage to Build Bridges”
What if following Jesus’s teaching isn’t about being a nice person, asks Father Patrick Williams, but about “breaking down the borders that allow us to look away and pretend not to see another’s suffering”? Like the parable of the Good Samaritan in this week’s Gospel reading, Jesus’s stories often compel us to wrestle with what it means to love our neighbor and confront us with a simple question: Will we continue to search for reasons to build walls, or will we find the courage to build bridges?
