Friday Sermon, The Rev. Mark Brown "Facing East, in Hope"

Preaching on the next-to-the-last day before the season of Advent begins, with scriptures referring to beasts with horns and iron teeth, the Rev. Mark Brown reminds us that our own time can also feel apocalyptic with no shortage of “tawdry political machinations and even tawdrier greed.” Father Brown reassures us by quoting Jesus that the kingdom of God is near, but when we ask "how near?" we're told only to "be ready."
