Family Service Sermon, The Rev. Michael Bird, “God Comes in Many Ways to Love Us”

During this Trinity Sunday, the Rev. A. Michael Bird skipped the First Reading from Genesis 1:1—2:4a in favor of a delightful call-and-response lesson on Creation during his sermon. Throughout the rundown of all of God’s gifts to us—including Fr. Bird’s favorite bird, the flamingo—the congregation joined in repeating God’s proclamation: “It is good!” The Creation story is a reminder of how much God loves us, the different ways God loves us, and that we are meant to be like God and love the whole world in the very same way.
