The Covered Altar

Trinity Church Wall Street on Christmas Eve began using its 1877 High Altar for regular worship for the first time in about fifty years. The altar includes some stunning mosaics, but those beautiful details are now temporarily covered up, unseen to the eyes of worshippers until the conclusion of the penitential season of Lent.
