Comfort at One: Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248

Trinity’s early music Twelfth Night Festival was a highlight of New York’s holiday season for several years. For the next two weeks, we are presenting some of our favorite concerts from past festivals for Comfort at One.

Today we present Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248 (parts five and six), featuring soloists from The Choir of Trinity Wall Street, including Steven Caldicott Wilson, Jonathan Woody, Molly Netter, Scott Mello, Megan Chartrand, Clifton Massey, and Andrew Fuchs.

These choruses, intimate arias, and colorful orchestrations depict the Christmas story as a drama to rival his monumental passions.
