ANZAC Day Commemoration

Today marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War in Gallipoli. It is one of Australia’s most important national occasions.

Anzac Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day to remember all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in war and on operational service. In the United States, this day commemorates the military alliance between the two countries. Australians have fought alongside the United States in every major battle since WWI, and the Anzac spirit is key to this shared commitment and sacrifice.

This year, the Australian Consulate-General in New York is partnering with Trinity to host an Anzac Day Commemorative Service. The service will include a catafalque party, psalms and hymns, and a keynote ANZAC Day Speaker and laying of the wreaths of remembrance.
