9am Sunday Sermon, The Rev. Michael A. Bird: “A Ready State”

Stricken with a case of “World Cup fever,” Father Michael shares what he thinks Argentina’s star player Lionel Messi has to teach us about finding our ideal “ready state” for this new season of Advent. For Messi, this means being calm, collected, and able to score a goal. For us, "it is about not receiving a ball to a foot,” he offers, “but Jesus into our hearts. It’s about the training and practice we have in being kind, loving, gentle, and aware so that when Jesus comes again we will be ready to embrace Him.” Watch his family-friendly sermon from this morning.
