An early hallmark Christian idea, humility is still a virtue we struggle to understand and model today. “Christ-like humility isn’t about shame, weakness, or low self-esteem,” preaches the Rev. Elizabeth Blunt, “It’s surprisingly not even about ‘self’ at all. It is a life-long disposition that goes beyond ourselves to celebrate the worth of every other soul.” The readings are Exodus 17:1-7, Philippians 2:1-13, and Matthew 21:23-32.
