11:15am Sermon, The Rev. Elizabeth Blunt: "Christ the King, the Shepherd, the Judge"

In today’s reading from Matthew we hear Jesus’ final lesson before he’s arrested, and it’s not an easy topic for most: judgment. As we close out the 2020 liturgical year this week, the Rev. Beth Blunt asks us to consider Jesus’ many incarnations in the Bible –from humble caretaker to merciful judge, tiny infant to almighty King– and take inventory of our own complexities and reversals, so that we may walk steady in love, as Christ loved us, into the new year. The scriptures are Ezekiel 34:11–16, 20–24; Ephesians 1:15–23; and Matthew 25:31–46.
