Holy Attention: The Spiritual Discipline of Noticing
To be spiritual is to notice — to see or become conscious of. Samantha Trolice, Program Manager for Spiritual Formation, leads us through movement and stillness in this spacious retreat, which will be grounded in noticing the silence and the sound, the calm and the chaos, all of which bring us into deeper union with the spirit of God.
Laughter, Play, and Imagination as Spiritual Practice
Join us for a play-filled retreat in God’s playground led by interfaith/interspiritual minister Rev. Tammy Theis-Satterlee, MA, Ed. You’ll get back in touch with your inner child while exploring old and new ways to have fun as an adult — ultimately calming your nervous system, decreasing stress, and sparking your imagination to help solve life’s challenges.

Fly-Fishing Retreat
Join us on the sparkling Housatonic River for great food, conversation, and teaching as we explore a weekend of fly-fishing and listening for the voice of God in our lives.
In fly-fishing, as in life, we sometimes need to learn to catch and release — to allow the waters of life to run their course and to hear the still, small voice of God in nature, speaking to us in new ways. During this special weekend, we will be accompanied by experienced fly-fishing guides as we take time — both on the river and in conversations at the Retreat Center — to consider how the practice of fly-fishing might teach us something profound about the joys and sorrows of our lives.

The Spirituality of Celebrating and Writing Books for Children
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter God’s reign.”
Come share your favorite spiritual children’s book, one you’ve written, or even just your book concept, and we’ll help you write a draft. Priest and Director for Spiritual Formation Rev. Dr. Mark Francisco Bozzuti-Jones will lead this workshop and share his experience of writing award-winning children’s books.
Guardian Angels in Ethiopian Christian Art
Artists of all levels are invited to explore Ethiopian Christian art and its guardian angel tradition. We will be guided to paint our own guardian angels, led by liturgical artist Laura James, whose work employs the ancient Ethiopian Christian way of icon making and helps Black people see themselves in their sacred texts.

The Spirituality of Mary Oliver
“To pay attention is our endless and proper work.”
Mary viewed life through a divine lens, finding God in the ordinary-sacred moments of daily life. Led by Samantha Trolice, Program Manager for Spiritual Formation, we’ll share our favorite Mary Oliver poems and explore their religious themes, which invite us all to awaken to God around us through the practice of paying attention.

HeartSong: Building Communities of Practice
Sing your way to your best self, whether you belong to a small church or a larger parish, using music to deepen your prayer life. Led by author and artist Ana Hernandez, there will be singing, drumming, movement, group improvisation, and more, giving you the tools to grow the Beloved Community. Individuals and teams welcome.
Celebrating Blackness
What do we need to release, redefine, reimagine and re-story in order to celebrate Blackness? Poet Lucille Clifton said: “Come celebrate with me that every day something has tried to kill me and has failed.” Led by healer, minister, and classically trained dancer Rev. Adriene Thorne, we will celebrate Black life and Black flourishing with poetry, dance, art, and sacred storying.
