Chanticleer — hailed as “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker — presents the East Coast premiere of Guillaume de Machaut’s Messe de Nostre Dame, a masterwork by a leading creative mind of the Middle Ages. De Machaut’s Messe, one of the first multi-movement, large-scale notated compositions in the Western canon, has been called the “genesis of modern music” (Los Angeles Times).
