What We Fund
Our grantmaking focuses on four strategic initiatives, guided by the Philanthropies team: Housing and Homelessness, Racial Justice, Mission Real Estate Development, and Leadership Development. Our work across all four initiatives is rooted in a strong commitment to advancing an equitable society in which the allocation of resources, opportunities, and hardships are not determined by race.
Neighborhood
Trinity’s neighborhood is New York City — stretching from the sidewalks outside Trinity Church, Trinity Commons and St. Paul’s Chapel to all five boroughs, from members of our congregation to those who live and work in the city, to the millions of visitors we welcome each year. Guided by our core values, we believe that our neighborhood will thrive when we see an end to mass homelessness and mass incarceration. Through our grantmaking and other investments, we seek to realize positive alternatives for how New Yorkers can reach their potential and grow.
Capacity
Trinity promotes “mission through marketplace,” the concept that effective, long-term mission can be developed, sustained and expanded using the tools of the marketplace. Our aim is to help our partners in the Anglican Communion and the Episcopal Church plan and deliver real estate projects that can provide ongoing financial support for mission work and that will be self-sustaining.
Leadership
Trinity is committed to equipping lay and ordained leaders in the Church and leaders in values-aligned secular organizations to respond to emerging challenges and work together in dynamic partnerships that honor and activate the ministry of all believers and those who share our values. We will identify, train, and network leaders for the Church and the world through a network of partners and resources that is both global and contextually sensitive, grounded in faith, values, and practical skills for effectiveness.
