Priests and parishioners catch up after a Sunday service at Trinity Church.

Worship & Congregation

Worship opens us to the wondrous reality of our loving God, gathering and focusing us on what matters. It’s at the heart of everything we do at Trinity Church. Through church services, educational programs for all ages, and the shared life of our congregation, we are inspired to seek a life of deep meaning.

Meet the Ministry: The Rev. Sister Promise Atelon

Three sisters of the Society of St. Margaret live and work in the parish of Trinity Church Wall Street: Sister Gloria Shirley, Sister Ann Whittaker, and Sister Promise Atelon. Sister Promise also serves as priest and celebrant in services throughout the week — including Contemplative Eucharist on Wednesdays. This complements her work with Trinity’s Pastoral Care team to support the spiritual needs of the Trinity community.

Trinity Tweens Lead Palm Sunday Pilgrimage

Palm Sunday is a collision of emotions as “Hosannas” give way to “Crucify Him,” with the journey between those two extremes being the subject of many a sermon and Bible study lesson. This past Sunday, tween parishioners led us on this journey, with theatrical storytelling across seven stations, a “pilgrimage” from the church to the churchyard to Trinity Commons, and back again, bringing scenes from the Passion story to life for family and friends.

3 Ways Into Sunday’s Stories for Children: Holy Week with Kids

With young children, rather than dwelling on physical suffering, death, belief, and miracles in a general way, the story of Mary, Martha, and Jesus, and their shared love for Lazarus, allows us to talk about love and loss, and “unbinding” all the things that keep us from loving as deeply and openly as these four friends.
