People think about and learn from the story of Mary and Martha in many different ways, at many different times. That is true of almost all of the Bible. Some people think this Gospel story is about a “right” or “wrong” way to follow Jesus. Like most things, there are different ways and different times for us to follow Jesus. And it’s never the same way for everyone every time.

Jazz House Kids offer students a wide range of creative programming with internationally renowned jazz performers teaching alongside staff. Through music, mentoring, education, and apprenticeship, Jazz House Kids cultivates tomorrow's global citizens so they may build vibrant communities.

Trinity Church Wall Street, in collaboration with Jazz House Kids, presents a free performance of The Steve Turre Sextet. Over the course of a remarkable career spanning more than five decades, virtuoso Steve Turre has proven he is one of the foremost masters of the trombone, and a pioneer of using seashells as musical instruments. In addition to being a member of the Saturday Night Live Band, jazz icon Turre has performed with numerous preeminent artists including Ray Charles, Art Blakey, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, Tito Puente, and more. This performance presents works from his upcoming recording on Smoke Sessions, called “Generations,” and features a band of some of the most celebrated jazz musicians.
