On Palm Sunday, also called Passion Sunday, we remember Jesus’s jubilant arrival in Jerusalem. We shift our attention to where his path will finally lead — death on a cross — when we read the Passion Gospel.

Rich in music and symbolism, this once-a-year liturgy summarizes the entire story of Holy Week in one service.

At this first service of the Triduum, the three holy days leading to Easter, we recall Jesus’s last supper with his disciples and meditate on his commandment to love one another.

On Good Friday, we remember Jesus’s Passion: his betrayal, trial, crucifixion, and burial. The service ends in silence.
