Church Divinity School of the Pacific honored 27 graduating students on Saturday, May 23. The school, which since March 2019 has been part of the Trinity Church Wall Street family, held an online celebration for its 126th graduating class because CDSP intends to invite the 2020 class to return for a traditional commencement ceremony in May 2021.
On Monday, the nation pauses for Memorial Day, to remember the individuals who died in service of the country’s armed forces. While many veterans are interred in Trinity parish cemeteries, fewer are buried here who died while serving. General Richard Montgomery and Captain James Lawrence are two notable exceptions.
As we make our way through this election year, I’d like to remind us that 2020 is the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment to the constitution giving women the right to vote.

Remember that there is power in the intention to acknowledge and hold the suffering all around you. There is power and dynamism in your intention to extend connectivity and mutuality, by offering relief from suffering to a world in need. This is so, even if this power and dynamism are expressed in the silence of your opening heart.
