Join the Rev. Dr. Mark Bozzuti-Jones, priest and director for Spiritual Formation at Trinity Retreat Center, for a time to meditate, journal, listen, read, mark, and inwardly digest the prophetic and challenging trees and stones of poems.
Set in the tranquility of Trinity Church, this reflective night service includes anthems and improvisations sung by The Choir of Trinity Wall Street. There’s nothing to do but listen, breathe, and be.
Join Trinity Retreat Center on Facebook Live for an hour of silent meditation and readings from the Book of Psalms from the stone chapel in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Precisely at 8:46am, the time when the first plane crashed into 1 World Trade Center (North Tower), the Rev. Phillip A. Jackson, Priest-in-charge of Trinity Church Wall Street, will ring the Bell of Hope in St. Paul’s Churchyard in a pattern of “four fives,” (five strikes, repeated four times), the traditional firefighters’ salute to the fallen.
Visit us for place to pray, reflect, mourn, or simply sit with your memories. Clergy from the NY Diocese will be present to offer support and prayers, and from 7am-7pm on Saturday, brief musical interludes and readings will be offered on the hour by Trinity’s staff and community of musicians.
At this candle-lit service, a series of readings and psalms are recited and chanted, followed by meditative musical responses led by The Choir of Trinity Wall Street and NOVUS NY with Julian Wachner, conductor. Following the service, a procession will walk to St. Paul’s Chapel, where a 48-hour vigil will begin.
