Comfort at One brings back our Thursday Pipes at One series from the inauguration of the Noack organ at St Paul’s Chapel in 2018. Today’s organ recital is from February 21, 2018 and is performed by Nathan Laube, Associate Professor of Organ at the Eastman School of Music.
Today for Comfort at One, we share with you a choral meditation: The Call by Gail Randall featuring soprano Margaret Haight and members of The Choir of Trinity Wall Street, led by associate organist Janet Yieh.
Our opening concert in 2019 celebrated Trinity’s legacy of commissioning, premiering and recording new works and showcased Trinity’s commitment to amplifying the voices of female artists. Here is a clip from NOVUS member Jessie Montgomery’s powerful string quartet Source Code.
Evocative of his Passion writing style, Bach composed Bleib bei uns, denn es will Abend werden, BWV 6 in Leipzig in 1725 for Easter Monday. For our first Comfort at One this Easter season, we offer a favorite Bach + One concert from 2019 with Bach's BWV 6 and Telemann's Concerto for 3 Oboes, 3 Violins and Continuo, TWV 44:43.
