“So are you a king?”

On Christ the King Sunday, the last Sunday of the Christian liturgical calendar, two Trinity sermons looked at the confrontation between Pontius Pilate and Jesus (John 18: 33-37) from different perspectives. The Rev. Kristin Miles made the surprising observation that Pontius Pilate actually offers a gift to Jesus, while Trinity’s Vicar, the Rev. Phillip Jackson, reflected on power turned upside down.
