Good Friday Reflection, The Rev. Winnie Varghese, "Tender, Vulnerable, Hopeful, and Dependent on Each Other"
“Good Friday is about the most confounding of ideas, God in flesh among us is crucified, lynched, is treated like people like him are treated, even when they are the Son of God.” The Rev. Winnie Varghese offered the reflection during the Liturgy of Good Friday.

“Good Friday is about the most confounding of ideas, God in flesh among us is crucified, lynched, is treated like people like him are treated, even when they are the Son of God.” The Rev. Winnie Varghese offered the reflection during the Liturgy of Good Friday at Trinity Church Wall Street. She reminded us that the stories of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Philando Castile and so many others demonstrate how our human bodies are vulnerable to the powers of the world, and that Good Friday challenges us to bear witness to those stories, and not turn our eyes away from them. Watch the reflection. The scriptures are Isaiah 52: 13-53:12, Psalm 22: 1-11, Hebrews 10: 16-25, and John 18: 1-19:42.
