Prophets. Who were the ancient prophets? Who are our prophets today? How did they come so close to God? Can we be prophets?  

In a lot of the prophet’s writings in the Old Testament, we hear about God’s promise for a better, fairer, more peaceful world. These often came during or after particularly difficult times. 

Change was needed, and since it is almost always hard and people don’t always agree on what kind of change is needed, they are afraid of what might happen. Many of the prophets referred to a messiah who would lead the people through the changes. 

Jesus grew up with the writings of the same ancient prophets that we’ll hear and read about this Sunday. 

Print, fold, read, and color the story booklet.

1. Sing and Dance

What is your vision for the world? Where do you see God’s vision now? Where do you see yourself in the world One Day?

2. Play and Pray

Make up a skit for each page of the story booklet. What or who helps to create that vision? What or who gets in the way of that vision? 

Pray: Dear God, you have given us such a beautiful vision of your kingdom where everyone is loved and cared for. Help us participate in making your kingdom more real in our lives and the lives of others. Amen.

3. Create

With friends or family, or by yourself, create a word cloud prophesy for each page of the story booklet, or for your vision of God’s world. Use an online generator or write them on paper.
