About the Event:

Join us for an introduction to the NYC Public Elementary Schools, hosted by Trinity’s Children and Families Education Subcommittee. Pamela Wheaton, a founder of InsideSchools.org, will give a talk to families with young children who are getting ready to apply to public 3-K, Pre-K, and kindergarten.

She'll cover such questions as:

  • At what age is my child eligible for free public school?
  • How do I find a 3-K program?
  • Is my child guaranteed a full-day pre-k program?
  • How do I find a good elementary school?

Pamela will discuss the different types of elementary schools and programs including Dual Language, Gifted & Talented, Zoned Schools, Unzoned Schools, and Charter Schools. In 2002, Pamela was one of the founders of Insideschools.org where she was a writer, managing editor, and director. She now helps parents navigate the NYC public school system, from 3-K to high school at SchoolScoutNYC.com.

This event will be held on Zoom. Bring your questions!
