9/11: Trinity Remembers

9/11

This September, Trinity marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11 by gathering in faith and community to honor those we lost – and to find hope and healing though music, art, and prayer.

  • Located just steps from the World Trade Center, St. Paul’s Chapel was not damaged in the 9/11 attacks, and it became a refuge for recovery workers after September 11, 2001.
  • “The Chapel that Stood” stayed open 24 hours a day for nine months after September 11, offering comfort, ministry, and healing to thousands of relief workers at Ground Zero.
  • Twenty-five years after the tragedy, St. Paul’s Chapel is a symbol of recovery and hope in Lower Manhattan.
  • Every year we ring the Bell of Hope to honor the lives lost.
  • Visit Trinity Church and historic St. Paul’s Chapel for music, art, and prayer services commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
