“Grief is not a lack of faith,” preaches the Rev. C. Afred Loua. It’s a human and healthy response to loss. Yet Jesus shows us that, even in our sorrow, we can remain open to love and care for one another. “Deep grief does not prevent a life of compassion,” says Father Alfred. “Compassion can coexist with pain.”
