The Gospel for May 31, 2026
Matthew 28:16–20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

3 Ways to Go Deeper
Theology
Rather than focusing on doctrine, Jesus invites us to “join a movement that is about demonstrating God’s goodness to the world,” says activist Shane Claiborne.
Sermon
Jesus was offered power and glory if he abandoned his identity as the son of God. Instead, he chose the path of humility and service, preaches the Rev. Phil Jackson — showing us that true freedom comes from aligning ourselves with God’s vision for our lives. “Because of Jesus’s obedience … we are free to follow the will and the word of God.”
Music
Good Shepherd Collective reinterprets the 90s Gospel classic “Ancient of Days,” joyfully celebrating God’s kingdom of love that encompasses every nation of the earth.
