The Downtown Fund

The Downtown Fund provides targeted support for nonprofit organizations serving Lower Manhattan that are dedicated to advancing the well-being of children, families, and the community. Funding supports arts and cultural events, food access, and meeting basic needs. Gifts ranging from $500 to $10,000 are available.

FAQs 

What kinds of projects do you fund?

Trinity is open to receiving applications for a wide array of projects that uplift the well-being of individuals who live and work in Lower Manhattan.

What will you not fund? 

The Downtown Fund will not support: 

• Private individuals or groups. If you have a great idea for a community initiative, we encourage you to partner with a 501(c)(3) organization based in Lower Manhattan. 
• Organizations based outside of our target geographic area of Lower Manhattan, below 14th Street.  
• Organizations that cannot guarantee that the funds will go directly toward individuals and families in Lower Manhattan. 
• Capital projects, operations, overhead, and facilities improvement or repairs. 

Is The Downtown Fund the same thing as Trinity’s Lower Manhattan Grants?

No. The Downtown Fund provides gifts between $500 to $10,000 for local, community-based initiatives. Requests may be submitted on a rolling basis here. 

The Lower Manhattan grantmaking initiative supports nonprofit organizations working in Lower Manhattan with grant amounts between $50,000 to $250,000. Ideas may be submitted on a rolling basis via Trinity’s grantee portal.

Applications for the Downtown Fund are reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis.
