About the Host
Summerlee Staten leads Faith Formation and Education at Trinity. She holds a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Master of Sacred Theology from Yale Divinity School, with a focus on biblical studies and faith formation. On Faith Curious, she brings that background into candid, practical conversation about how faith meets everyday life.
On Living a Meaningful Life with Barbara Becker
Can facing death teach us how to live? Host Summerlee Staten talks with interfaith minister Barbara Becker, author of Heartwood: The Art of Living with the End in Mind, about death as a portal to meaning, grief practices across faiths, and the surprising freedom that can come with accepting our mortality and limitations. Together, they consider how joy and sorrow coexist, why anger and frustration deserve space, and how keeping the end in mind can bring what matters now into sharper focus.
